Roots Blower for Pneumatic Conveying: Bulk Material Handling Guide
Pneumatic conveying is the cleanest and most efficient method to transfer dry bulk powders through sealed pipelines. Utilizing a heavy-duty Roots Blower for pneumatic conveying ensures continuous, blockage-free material transport.
Dilute Phase Pneumatic Conveying Systems
Rotary lobe blowers are ideal for dilute phase pressure conveying, where materials (such as cement, fly ash, flour, starch, or plastic granules) are suspended in a high-velocity air stream at moderate pressures (0.3 kg/cm² to 0.9 kg/cm²).
Key Blower Selection Factors for Pneumatic Conveying
- Pressure Reserve Margin: Select a blower with 15-20% pressure margin above normal operating resistance to clear line surges and prevent pipe clogging.
- Heat Management: High discharge air temperatures can melt thermal-sensitive plastics or degrade food grains. Use a Water Cooled Roots Blower or aftercooler when conveying heat-sensitive powders.
- Heavy Duty Air Filtration: Industrial conveying environments are dusty. Dual-stage suction filters prevent abrasive dust from entering the blower casing.
